Connie Hedegaard, Member of the EC in charge of Climate Action, participated in the United Nations Climate Change Conference, which took place in Doha, in Qatar, from 26 November to 7 December 2012. The Conference laid the basis for more ambitious international action against climate change in the short term, paved the way for a new global climate agreement to be finalised in 2015 and enabled a second period of the Kyoto Protocol to start on 1 January 2013.
