Visit of Johannes Hahn, Member of the EC, to Bulgaria

Johannes Hahn, Member of the EC in charge of Regional Policy, embarked on a visit to Bulgaria where he inaugurated the bridge connecting Calafat (Romania) and Vidin (Bulgaria). Co-funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), this new bridge will join what is for now the only bridge between the two countries. The project marks a major advance for both transport and trade between the Balkans and the rest of the EU. Boyko Borissov, Bulgarian Prime Minister, and Victor Ponta, Romanian Prime Minister, participated in the ceremony.
