Visit of Kristalina Georgieva, Member of the EC, to Germany

Kristalina Georgieva, Member of the EC in charge of International Cooperation, Humanitarian Aid and Crisis Response, embarked on a visit to Berlin where she underlined the importance of EU-wide civil protection cooperation on dangerous materials. Kristalina Georgieva addressed the International Symposium on Development of CBRN-Defence Capabilities, which focuses on disasters where dangerous substances – chemical, biological pathogens, radiological or nuclear substances – are deliberately or accidentally released. Later Kristalina Georgieva spoke at Berlin’s EU representation to an invited audience of senior government officials, diplomats, politicians, academics, think-tanks and journalists on the evolving humanitarian crisis in Syria.
