Visit of José Manuel Barroso, President of the EC, to Côte d'Ivoire

José Manuel Barroso, President of the EC, went to Abidjan, where he met with Alassane Ouattara, President of Côte d'Ivoire. He then attended the signature ceremony of the first agreement of budgetary support by the EU to Côte d'Ivoire, in a grant worth €115 millions by Charles Koffi Diby, Ivorian Minister for Economy and Finances, and Thierry de Saint Maurice, Head of the Delegation of the EU to Côte d'Ivoire.
The President was also decorated by Henriette Diabaté, Great Chancellor of Ivorian National Order. José Manuel Barroso then delivered a speech during the academic session "Partners for a 'new beginning'" at Félix Houphouët-Boigny University. The President ended his trip by a meeting notably with Members of the Ivorian Popular Front (Fpi).
