Press conference by Joaquín Almunia, Vice-President of the EC, on the competition cases regarding the acquisition of EMI by Universal and the acquisition of Magirus by Avnet
Joaquín Almunia, Vice-President of the EC in charge of Competition, gave a press conference to announce that the EC approved the acquisition of EMI's recorded music business by Universal, subject to conditions, as well as the acquisition of German-based IT company Magirus by rival Avnet of the US.
