Posting of a haiku in a "Haiku Post" by Kristalina Georgieva, Member of the EC, and Kojiro Shiojiri, Head of the Mission of Japan to the EU

Kristalina Georgieva, Member of the EC in charge of International Cooperation, Humanitarian Aid and Crisis Response, met at the Embassy of Japan in Brussels, Kojiro Shiojiri, Head of the Mission of Japan to the EU, during a Japanese traditional ceremony centred on the haiku.
Haiku is a traditional form of Japanese poetry, which originated in the city of Matsuyama, where the famous poet Shiki Masaoka was born in 1867. Kristalina Georgieva thus perpetuated the tradition by posting a haiku in the Haïku Post.
