Signature of a comprehensive trade agreement between the EU, Peru and Colombia

The EU signed an ambitious and comprehensive Trade Agreement with Colombia and Peru. The agreement was signed by Karel De Gucht, Member of the EC in charge of Trade, Jonas Bering Liisberg, Danish Deputy Permanent Representative to the EU, representing the Presidency of the Council of the EU, Sergio Díaz-Granados, Colombian Minister for Trade, Industry and Tourism, and José Luis Silva Martinot, Peruvian Minister for Foreign Trade and Tourism. Once fully implemented the Commission estimates that the trade deal will relieve EU exporters of 270 million euro in duties annually; it will further open up markets on both sides as well as increase the stability and predictability of the trading environment.
