Visit of Johannes Hahn, Member of the EC, to the Danube region to take stock of progress achieved in the framework of the Danube Strategy
Johannes Hahn, Member of the EC in charge of Regional Policy, went to the Danube region, which brings together 8 Member States and 6 neighbouring countries, to meet those who are putting into action the Danube Strategy, which was launched a year ago.
During the trip, Johannes Hahn was able to see at first-hand the progress being made through macro-regional cooperation, and to raise awareness, at political and public level, of the added value of the strategy. He went to Austria, Slovakia, Hungary, Croatia, Serbia, Romania and Bulgaria, where he met with high-level politicians and stakeholders. He also visited a very wide range of Danube Strategy projects.
The trip was timed to coincide with the annual Danube Day celebrations in the region.
