UN Conference on Sustainable Development Rio+20

José Manuel Barroso, President of the EC, Janez Potočnik, Member of the EC in charge of Environment, Andris Piebalgs, Member of the EC in charge of Development, Connie Hedegaard, Member of the EC in charge of Climate Action, and Dacian Cioloş, Member of the EC in charge of Agriculture and Rural Development, participated in the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development Rio+20 (UNCSD 2012) and its side events.
This conference marked the 20th anniversary of the 1992 UN Conference on Environment and Development (UNCED), in Rio de Janeiro, and the 10th anniversary of the 2002 World Summit on Sustainable Development (WSSD) in Johannesburg.
