Máire Geoghegan-Quinn, Member of the EC in charge of Research, Innovation and Science, visited the Institute for Transuranium Elements (ITU) of Karlsruhe, in Germany.
The ITU, of the seven institutes of the Joint Research Centre (JRC), helps to protect the citizen by contributing to the safety and security of the nuclear fuel cycle, including evaluation of methods to extend the life of fuel and improved waste management.
