Visit of Werner Hoyer, President of the European Investment Bank, to the EC

José Manuel Barroso, President of the EC, and Siim Kallas, Vice-President of the EC in charge of Transport, received Werner Hoyer, President of the European Investment Bank (EIB). It was the first visit of Werner Hoyer to the EC since his appointment on 01/01/2012.
The discussion focused on ways in which the EIB could help drive economic recovery in Greece, in particular through support to small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) and key infrastructure projects.
Both institutions would look at ways to work together as effectively as possible, which was crucial since they were partners in efforts to underpin investments for growth and job creation in Europe.
