Participation of José Manuel Barroso, Joaquín Almunia and Maroš Šefčovič in the plenary session of the European Economic and Social Committee

José Manuel Barroso, President of the EC, Joaquín Almunia, Vice-President of the EC in charge of Competition, and Maroš Šefčovič, Vice-President of the EC in charge of Inter-Institutional Relations and Administration, participated in the 478th plenary session of the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC).
An updated Memorandum of Understanding had been signed. José Manuel Barroso made a speech entitled "From decisions to implementation" (Des décisions à la mise en œuvre) on this occasion in the presence of Staffan Nilsson, President of the EESC. He also made a statement on "Europe 2020 Strategy and preparation of the Spring European Council".
On 23/02/2012 Joaquín Almunia made a speech on "Modernising State aid control".
