José Manuel Barroso, President of the EC, met Mark Rutte, Dutch Prime Minister. They discussed matters of the greatest importance for the euro area and for the future of the EU. The President explained that an important point they discussed was the problem of governance in the euro area. He highlighted that Europe needed stronger governance and more discipline.
