Press conference by Maria Damanaki, Member of the EC, on the reform of the Common Fisheries Policy

Maria Damanaki, membre de la CE chargée des Affaires maritimes et de la Pêche, a donné une conférence de presse sur l'avenir de la politique de la pêche. Dans ses propositions visant à réformer en profondeur la politique commune de la pêche de l'UE (PCP), la CE a défini une approche radicale de la gestion de la pêche en Europe. Ces plans permettront de garantir à l'avenir la conservation des stocks halieutiques ainsi que les sources de revenus des pêcheurs tout en mettant un terme à la surexploitation des stocks et à l'épuisement de ceux-ci. La réforme introduira une approche décentralisée de la gestion de la pêche fondée sur la science, par région et par bassin maritime. Elle améliorera également les normes de gouvernance dans l'UE et au niveau international grâce à des accords de pêche durable.
