Brussels European Council, 23-24/06/2011

José Manuel Barroso, President of the EC, Catherine Ashton, High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the EC, and the Heads of State or Government of the EU met in Brussels for the European Council hosted by Herman van Rompuy, President of the European Council.
Five main issues were discussed: overview of the economic situation in Europe, especially in Greece, migration, the Southern Neighbourhood, financial sector taxation and the administrative burden on SMEs.
The European Council ended on a joint press conference with Jadranka Kosor, Croatian Prime Minister, on the accession of Croatia to the EU on 01/07/2013.
