New Skills and Jobs Conference: "The Future of European Labour Markets"

László Andor, Member of the EC in charge of Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion, and Christopher Pissarides, 2010 Nobel Prize Laureate in Economics, opened the New Skills & Jobs Conference in which more than 200 academics, representatives of stakeholder organizations and senior policy-makers participated. The conference, organized by László Andor and the DG "Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion" of the EC, aimed to use Professor Pissarides' work on labour markets to support employment and social policies across the EU. The discussions covered the EU's Europe 2020 flagship initiative "Agenda for New Skills and Jobs", as well as the recently published draft Joint Employment Report.
