Participation of Andris Piebalgs, Member of the EC, at the Forum on Climate Change, in Vanuatu
Andris Piebalgs, Member of the EC in charge of Development, participated in the High-Level Regional Conference on Climate Change in the Pacific, organised between 2 and 4 March 2011 in Vanuatu, during which he presented, jointly with the Pacific Islands partners, an Action Plan on Climate Change. In that context, Andris Piebalgs called in for an increase of international support for the Small Islands, notably to Pacific Islands. He also launched projects worth 39 million euro and will announce new ones for 50.4 million euro for adaptation to climate change effects and poverty.
