Participation of José Manuel Barroso, President of the EC, at the 5th Cohesion Forum

José Manuel Barroso, President of the EC, Johannes Hahn, Member of the EC in charge of Regional Policy, and László Andor, Member of the EC in charge of Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion, participated in the 5th Cohesion Forum entitled "Investing in Europe's future: the contribution of cohesion policy to Europe 2020".
Viktor Orbán, Hungarian Prime Minister and President in office of the Council, and Donald Tusk, Polish Prime Minister, were also present.
The Cohesion Forum takes place every three years following publication of the Report on Economic, Social and Territorial Cohesion. The 5th edition offered a final opportunity for the Member States and regions to have their say before the EC presents its first legislative proposals on the Cohesion Policy after the summer of 2011.
José Manuel Barroso also presided the award ceremony "Regions of Excellence" given to outstanding regions in implementing projects related to the seven Flagship Initiatives of Europe 2020.
