Brussels Economic Forum 2010 and award ceremony of the photo competition "The euro: what does it mean to us?"
José Manuel Barroso, President of the EC, Olli Rehn, Member of the EC in charge of Economic and Monetary Affairs, Connie Hedegaard, Member of the EC in charge of Climate Action, and Herman van Rompuy, President of the European Council, participated in the Brussels Economic Forum 2010. José Manuel Barroso presented his view of the issues the crisis confronted Europe with and the way in which they need to be addressed. He also announced a Commission initiative for the following day for a bank resolution to deal with insolvent banks, financed by banks themselves. On that same day took place the award ceremony of the photo competition entitled "The euro: what does it mean to us?" , organised by the DG "Economic and Financial Affairs" of the EC, in the presence of Olli Rehn. Each team had to take and send an original picture illustrating their vision of the euro. The seven winning teams of the contest are from the Czech Republic, France, Germany, Hungary, Lithuania, Poland and Portugal.
