Janusz Lewandowski, Member of the EC in charge of Financial Programming and Budget, and Patrizio Fiorilli, his Spokesman, met with a group of representatives from Europe's largest networks of local and regional authorities including Klaus Klipp, Secretary General of the Assembly of European Regions (AER), Frédéric Vallier, Secretary General of the Council of European Municipalities and Regions (CEMR), Daniël Termont, EUROCITIES Executive Committee Member and Mayor of Ghent, Carolyn Rule, Member of the Cabinet of the Council of Cornwall in charge of Economy and Regeneration, and Eleni Marianou, Secretary General of the Conference of Peripheral Maritime Regions (CPMR). Both sides have had an informal exchange on the upcoming budget review, cohesion policy, Europe 2020 and the financial regulations.
