Visit of Stefan Fule, Member of the EC, to Tunisia

Štefan Füle, Member of the EC in charge of Enlargement and European Neighbourhood Policy, met Mohamed Ghannouchi, Tunisian Prime Minister, Kamel Morjane, Tunisian Minister for Foreign Affairs, and Mohamed Nouri Jouini, Tunisian Minister for Development and International Cooperation. During the meeting with Mohamed Nouri Jouini the "Memorandum of Understanding" of the new National Indicative Programme for the period 2011-2013 was signed, with a budget of € 240 million for technical and financial cooperation between the European Union and Tunisia. Several subjects were discussed including: the question of the advanced status following the submission of a proposal by the Tunisian government; several local issues such as the integration of the Maghreb, the Union for the Mediterranean and security in the area; as well as technical and financial cooperation with Tunisia.
