Visit of José Manuel Barroso, President of the EC, to Warsaw

José Manuel Barroso, President of the EC, went to Warsaw, where he participated in the Congress of the European People's Party (EPP). The main subject was José Manuel Barroso's mandate, which will end in November 2009. In theory, he will decide whether or not he is ready for second term on the occasion of the Summit of the Heads of state and government in June, just after the European elections. He also participated in the official opening of the Conference 'Poland and the European Union: Five Years After the Enlargement'. During the conference, José Manuel Barroso gave a speech entitled "Everything started in Poland 20 years ago", which focused on the importance of this anniversary for the Polish people, as well as for the EU as a whole.
