European Council - Brussels, 11-12/12/2008

The Heads of State and Government of the EU met in Brussels for the last European Council of the French Presidency. During this meeting, a European Economic Recovery Plan was approved and an agreement on the energy/climate change package was reached. The European Council dicussed he European Security and Defence Policy and lastly, established an approach to enable the Treaty of Lisbon to come into force by 2009.
