Participation of José Manuel Barroso, President of the EC, in the celebration of the 90th anniversary of the Armistice of 11 November

José Manuel Barroso, President of the EC, Hans-Gert Pöttering, President of the EP, Javier Solana, Secretary General of the Council of the EU and High Representative for the Common Foreign and Security Policy (CFSP), and Nicolas Sarkozy, President of the French Republic and President in office of the Council of the EU, participated in the ceremony marking the 90th anniversary of the armistice of the 1914-18 war, under the sign of European reconciliation, which was held in Fort Douaumont, a symbol of the Battle of Verdun in 1916.
