José Manuel Barroso, President of the EC, Benita Ferrero-Waldner, Member of the EC in charge of External Relations and European Neighbourhood Policy, Günter Verheugen, Vice-President of the EC in charge of Enterprise and Industry, Peter Mandelson, Member of the EC in charge of Trade, Javier Solana, High Representative for the Common Foreign and Security Policy and Secretary-General of the Council of the European Union, Janez Janša, Slovenian Prime Minisiter and current President of the Council, Dimitrij Rupel, Slovenian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Stephen Hadley, Assistant to the President For National Security Affairs and George W. Bush, President of the United States of America took part in the EU/USA Summit. The issues on the agenda were: the support to the development of Kosovo, the follow up on the Peace Initiative in the Middle-East launched in Annapolis in 2007, climate change, cooperative promotion of efficency and energy safety by diversifying the sources and developing new forms of sustainable energy.
