Press conference on the Renewable Energy and Climate Change Package
José Manuel Barroso, President of the EC; Stavros Dimas, Member of the EC in charge of Environment; Andris Piebalgs, Member of the EC in charge of Energy and Neelie Kroes, Member of the EC in charge of Competition, gave a press conference on the Renewable Energy and Climate Change Package. The measures are the following: 20% increase in energy efficiency; 20% reduction in greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions; 20% share of renewables in overall EU energy consumption by 2020; 10% biofuel component in vehicle fuel by 2020.
