Meeting of leaders and representatives of the leading world religions to discuss "Fundamental rights and mutual respect"

José Manuel Barroso, President of the EC, and Wolfgang Schüssel, Austrian Federal Chancellor and President in office of the Council, met leaders and representatives of the leading world religions to discuss on the universal values shared by all the EU Member States: freedom, democracy and respect for human rights. Margot Wallström, Vice-President of the EC in charge of Institutional Relations and Communication Strategy, and Ján Figel', Member of the EC in charge of Education, Training, Culture and Multilingualism, also attended the meeting.
