Brussels European Council, 23-24/03/2006

The European Heads of State and Government met for the Spring European Council. They reaffirmed their commitment to boost Europe's employment levels, and backed the drafting of a common energy policy. Three priority actions to make a success of the Growth and Jobs Strategy were decided: investing more in knowledge and innovation, unlocking the potential of SMEs, and increasing the employment of young people, women, older workers, persons with disabilities, legal migrants and minority groups.
