EU/China Summit

José Manuel Barroso, President of the EC, accompanied by Peter Mandelson, Member of the EC in charge of Trade, and Vladimír Spidla, Member of the EC in charge of Employment, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities, went to China for the 8th EU/China Summit. Tony Blair, British Prime Minister and President in office of the Council, Alan Johnson, British Minister for Trade and Industry, and Javier Solana, Secretary-General of the Council of the EU and High Representative for the Common Foreign and Security Policy (CFSP), were also present. They met: Wen Jiabao, Chinese Prime Minister, Bo Xilai, Chinese Minister for Trade, Li Zhaoxing, Chinese Minister for Foreign Affairs, Tian Chengping, Chinese Minister for Employment and Social Security, and also Hu Jintao, President of the People's Republic of China.
