Signature of an International Agreement on Passenger Name Records
An International Agreement was signed between the European Community and the United States that makes possible the transfer of air passenger data of transatlantic flights to the US, under certain conditions. It enters into force with immediate effect. The agreement was signed in Washington by Tom Ridge, US Secretary for Homeland Security, Noel Fahey, Ambassador of Ireland representing the EU Presidency, and Günter Burghardt, Head of the European Commission Delegation in Washington.
