Open Doors Day at the European Institutions

For the tenth consecutive year, the European institutions in Brussels organised an open door day. As part of the event, Siim Kallas, Vice President of the EC in charge of Administrative Affairs, Audit and Anti-Fraud, opened the Berlaymont building, the headquarters of the EC in Brussels, to the general public. Since the enlargement of the EU in 2004, Europe has wished to have its own constitution and this is why the European institutions linked Europe Day 2005 to the Constitution. The open door day of the European institutions celebrates the anniversary of the declaration by Robert Schuman, on 9 May 1950, which launched European integration.
