Agreement between António Maria Costa, Executive Director of United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, and the EC

António Maria Costa, UN Under-Secretary General, Executive Director of United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and Director-General of the UN Office at Vienna, met Franco Frattini, Vice-President of the EC in charge of Justice, Freedom and Security, and Benita Ferrero-Waldner, Member of the EC in charge of External Relations and European Neighbourhood Policy. The aim of the visit was the signature of the first agreement setting out ways in which the two parties can work more closely together to tackle the problems of illicit drugs and organised crime.
