Inauguration of the Berlaymont

The Berlaymont building was officially inaugurated by Romano Prodi, outgoing President of the EC, Neil Kinnock, Vice-President in charge of Administrative Reform, Guy Verhofstadt, Belgian Prime Minister, and Didier Reynders, Belgian Minister for Finance. There were numerous invitees. Speeches were given and a commemorative plaque unveiled on the ground floor.
