Opening of negotiations between the EEC and East African States

Walter Hallstein, President of the Commission of the EEC, and Henri Rochereau, Member of the Commission of the EEC in charge of Social Affairs and Overseas Development (President of the group), received a ministerial delegation composed of officials from Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda within the framework of the opening of negotiations between the EEC and these three East-African countries. The African delegation included Abdulrahman Babu, Tanzanian Minister for Trade and Cooperatives, Mwai Kibaki, Kenyan Minister for Trade and Industry, Cuthbert Obwangor, Ugandan Minister for Trade and Industry, and Clement George Kahama, Ambassador of Tanzania to the German Federal Republic.
