Visit by Habib Bourguiba, President of Tunisia, to the Commission of the EEC

Members of the Commission of the EEC including Walter Hallstein, President of the Commission of the EEC, Lionello Levi Sandri, Vice-President of the Commission of the EEC in charge of Internal Market (President of the group) and Social Affairs (President of the Group), Robert Marjolin, Vice-President of the Commission of the EEC, Hans von der Groeben, Member of the Commission of the EEC in charge of Competition (President of the group), Jean Rey, Member of the Commission of the EEC in charge of External Relations (President of the group), Guido Colonna di Paliano, Member of the Commission of the EEC in charge of Internal Market (President of the group) and the Common Press and Information Service (President of the Management Board), Lambert Schaus, Member of the Commission of the EEC, Michel Gaudet, Director-General at the Legal Service of the European Executives in charge of EEC Affairs, Karl-Heinz Narjes, Head of Cabinet of Walter Hallstein, Axel Herbst, Director-General of DG I External Relations of the Commission of the EEC, Heinrich Hendus, Director-General of the DG VIII "Development Aid" of the Commission of the EEC, Helmut Sigrist, Deputy Executive Secretary of the Commission of the EEC, Beniamino Olivi, Spokesperson of the Commission of the EEC, received a delegation of Tunisian officials led by Habib Bourguiba, President of Tunisia, including Ahmed Ben Salah, Tunisian Secretary of State in charge of Planning and National Economy, Mahmoud Messadi, Tunisian Secretary of State in charge of National Education, H.E. Ambassador Slaheddine El Goulli, Head of the Mission of Tunisia to the EEC, and Hédi Nouira, Governor the Central Bank of Tunisia, in the presence of Dirk-Pieter Spierenburg, Dutch Ambassador and Dutch Premanent Representative to the Commission of the EEC. The meeting took place at the Château de Val-Duchesse in Brussels and was followed by a luncheon. Both sides had a thorough exchange of views on the prospects of the future relationships between Tunisia and the EEC.
