Opening of negotiations between the EEC and Austria

On 19 March 1965, negotiations on the future of economic relations between the EEC and Austria were initiated on the occasion of a meeting between a delegation of the EEC composed, among others, of Jean Rey, Member of the Commission of the EEC in charge of External Relations (President of the group), Jean-Marc Boegner, French Permanent Representative to the EC, Emile Noël, Secretary General of the Commission of the EEC, and Axel Herbst, Director-General of DG I External Relations of the Commission of the EEC, on the one side, and a delegation of Austrian officials composed, among others, of Bruno Kreisky, Austrian Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs, Fritz Bock, Austrian Federal Minister for Trade and Reconstruction, and H.E. Ambassador Ernst Lemberger, Head of the Mission of Austria to the EEC, on the other side.
