Participation of António Vitorino, Member of the EC, at the "European Spring Days" event
On the occasion of the "European Spring Days" events of 21 March 2003, António Vitorino, Member of the EC in charge of Justice and Home Affairs, President of the group of Members of the EC in charge of distribution information to the general public and Member of the Praesidium of the Convention on the future of Europe, went to Jean Absil Royal Secondary School in Brussels. In 32 European countries, pupils from more than 5000 schools discussed the future of Europe. This day of debate was initiated by the EU's Education Ministers and received the support of the Secretary-General of the EC. The aim is to help young people to recognise the work of the Convention on the future of Europe and to encourage the participation of pupils and teachers in discussions on the future of Europe.
