Tripartite Social Summit for Growth and Employment
A Social Dialogue Summit with the Troika of the Council presidency (Greece, Italy and Ireland), the EC and social partners took place ahead of the Brussels Spring European Council. The objective of the summit was to reinforce contacts between social partners and the European institutions on economic and socialy policies and to send a strong political signal regarding the importance of three-party dialogue to increase the involvement of social partners in pursuing the Lisbon objectives. Among the participants were Anna Diamantopoulou, Member of the EC in charge of Employment and Social Affairs and Constantin Simitis, Greek Prime Minister and President in office of the Council.
