European Summit, Copenhagen 14-15 December 1973

A European Summit was held on 14-15 December 1973 in Copenhagen under the Presidency of Anker Jørgensen, Danish Prime Minister. The Heads of State or Government of the nine Member States of the European Communities, among other things, adopted the declaration on the European identity. This was meant to enable them to achieve a better definition of their relations with other countries, among others.
Furthermore, faced with an energy crisis Member States agreed on the implementation of a common energy policy.
