Agreement between representatives of consumers and companies on good business practices when buying on line
Commissioner David Byrne, in charge of Health and Consumer Protection, received Jim Murray, Director of the European office of consumer trade unions (BEUC) and Eric Jonnaert, President of the “Consommation marketing” working group of the Union of industry confederations and European employers (UNICE). The meeting led to an agreement on good business practices for buying goods on line, opening the way to a common European standard which will allow consumers and companies to benefit completely from the advantages of electronic commerce in Europe.
