EU/Russia Summit, 03/10/2001

In the framework of the EU-Russia Summit, Vladimir Putin, President of the Federation of Russia, Romano Prodi, President of the EC, Guy Verhofstadt, Belgian Prime Minister and President-in-Office of the Council, and Javier Solana, Secretary General of the Council of the EU and High Representative for Common Foreign and Security Policy, made a common statement. At the same time, Philippe Busquin, Member of the EC in charge of Research, and Alexander Rumyantsev, Russian Minister of Atomic Energy, signed co-operation agreements on Nuclear Security and Fusion, and Pascal Lamy, Member of the EC in charge of Trade, received German Oskarovich Gref, Minister for Economic Development and Trade.
