European day of language
The European Day of Languages is part of the European Year of Languages, organised by the European Union and the Council of Europe. In the framework of the "Languages Lift Off", thousands of balloons were launched in a large town in each Member State. People who find them have the possibility of winning prizes by telephoning participating radio stations. In Brussels, Viviane Reding, Member of the EC in charge of Education and Culture, launched the balloons.
