Conference on the international mobility of researches: working meeting

On 17-18/09/2001 the Belgian Presidency organised a conference titled "Towards a European research open to the world", with three main subjects: excellence within the European scientific community; the mobility of researchers; international exchanges. King Albert II. of Belgium, François-Xavier de Donnéa, President in office of the Research Council, Minister President of the Bruxelles-Capitale region, in charge of the supervision of local powers and scientific policy; Yvan Ylieff, Government Commissioner, assistant to the Belgian Minister for Scientific Research; Philippe Busquin, Member of the EC in charge of Research, took part in the conference's preparatory meeting.
