Signature of an EU-Hungary financing agreement in the framework of membership
Franz Fischler, Member of the EC in charge of Agriculture, Rural Development and Fisheries, signed the multi-annual financing convention fixing the Community rules governing the management and control of SAPARD (special adhesion programme for agriculture and rural development). Hungary was represented by Mihály Varga, Minister for Finance, and Károly Tamás, Secretary of State for Agriculture.
