Signature of the European association agreements with Hungary, Poland and Czechoslovakia

The three European association agreements with Hungary, Poland and Czechoslovakia were signed in Brussels. Hans van den Broek, Dutch Minister for Foreign Affairs and President in office of the Council and Frans Andriessen, Vice-President of the CEC in charge of External Relations and Trade Policy and Cooperation with other European Countries both signed the agreement on behalf of the EU, whilst the three CEEC countries were represented by Leszek Balcerowicz, Polish Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister, Marián Čalfa, Prime Minister of the Federal Czech and Slovak Republic, József Antall, Hungarian Prime Minister, Krzysztof Skubiszewski, Polish Minister for Foreign Affairs, and Jiří Dienstbier, Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Federal Czech and Slovak Republic. Jacques Delors, President of the CEC, also took part in the event.
