Signing of transit agreements between the EEC, Switzerland and Austria

Karel van Miert, Member of the CEC in charge of Transport, Credit and Investments, Protection and Promotion of Consumer Interests and Environment (pro term pending the appointment of a successor to Carlo Ripa di Meana), Adolf Ogi, Head of the Swiss Federal Department for Transports, Communication and Energy, and Rudolf Streicher, Austrian Federal Minister for Public Economy and Transport, signed an agreement in principle on transit traffic between the EEC and Austria and Switzerland. The agreement was signed in the presence of Hanja Maij-Weggen, Dutch Minister for Transport and Public Works and President in office of the Council.
