Maastricht European Council, 09-10/12/1991

The main objective of the European Council of Maastricht was for the Heads of State and Government to reach an agreement on a project for a European Union Treaty and particularly on economic and monetary union. Security and foreign policy was also discussed. On the side of the Council, other events took place: the Union of European Federalists Convention, as well as, the inauguration of the “Jacques Delors Euroregional Studies" Chair on the initiative of the Universities of Aachen, Hasselt, Heerlen, Liège and Maastricht.
