Copenhagen European Council, 21-22/06/1993

The European Council of Copenhagen (21-22/06/1993) gave the Commission the responsibility for preparing the White Paper on the long-term strategy for promoting growth, competitiveness and employment. In addition the accession of Austria, Finland, Sweden and Norway has been confirmed for 1995 and countries of Central and Eastern Europe have been guaranteed they will become members as soon as they meet the necessary political and economic conditions.
