Signing of an agreement to improve paid employment in Agriculture in the EU

Allan Larsson, Director-General of DG V Employment, Industrial Relations and Social Affairs of the EC, Francesco Orsomando, President of the European Federation of Agricultural (EFA), José Bohorquez, President of the General Committee for Agricultural Cooperation in the European Union (Geopa-Copa), Luc Guyau, President of the European agricultural union (COPA), and Emilio Gabaglio, Secretary General of the European Trade Union Confederation (ETUC).
The agreement was addressed to the social partners at the national level as a basis for negotiation. It set out the basic provisions relating to paid employment in agriculture, to the adaptation of working time and to working conditions, with the objective of improving the employment situation in the agricultural sector by means of concerted action.
