Visit of Alois Mock, Austrian Deputy Federal Chancellor and Austrian Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs, to the CEC

Manuel Marín, Vice-President of the CEC in charge of Social Affairs and Employment, Education and Training, Frans Andriessen, Vice-President of the CEC in charge of Agriculture and Forestry, and Willy de Clercq, Member of the CEC in charge of External Relations and Trade Policy, received Alois Mock, Austrian Deputy Federal Chancellor and Austrian Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs, Manfred Scheich, Chief Negotiator for Austria’s accession negotiations with the EU and H.E. Ambassador Wolgang Wolte, Head of the Mission of Austria to the EC. A high level meeting "Commission/Austria" allows both sides to take a look at the bilateral relations EEC/Austria in various fields of cooperation as well as at the multilateral relations "EEC-EFTA" after the Tampere meeting and in anticipation of the Geneva meeting in November 1988. Both sides discussed the important international issues and in particular the Uruguay Round and the East-West relations in the light of official relations that were established with the Comecon and the bilateral negotiations with the eastern countries.
